Situated within the University of Nebraska College of Law, the Space, Cyber, and National Security Law Program bridges law, technology and global security — and has done so for over a decade. Students develop the skills they will need to solve problems now and into the future by exploring the laws and regulations that impact every satellite, phone call and online interaction. SCNS graduates, faculty and alumni are leading the wave of international change from America’s heartland.

About the Program

We focus on you, the student. Our faculty and staff help you develop a program that is unique and specialized to your interests and passions. There are a number of degree track options in the program to meet the needs of both legal professionals and law students entering the field.

J.D. Program of Concentrated Study

The Space, Cyber, and National Security Law curriculum is open to all Nebraska J.D. students as a program of concentrated study certificate. The program is considered an Individualized Program of Concentrated Study, rather than a fixed program, allowing J.D. students to focus on a specific field of interest for their required hours, as well as title their concentration in a way that is most beneficial to them.

LL.M. Program

Open to persons with J.D. (law) degrees interested in advancing and specializing their legal expertise. The full time and on campus LL.M. is an intense and fulfilling one year program. Our online program is a 3-year, part-time program, where students attend online classes synchronously with students who attend on-campus.

“The program offers students an incredible opportunity to learn from people that are passionate and lead in their respective fields. Since expressing my interest everyone in the program has helped foster my interest through recommended courses or summer work opportunities. Their support makes me feel more confident about my capabilities as well as my future prospects.”
